Abstract

Translating the Prophet's Hadith has become a very important matter because of it's effective role in conveying The Mohammadan message and transmitting the instruction of Islam to the people of the world, But it poses many challenges for the translator, and this is due to the eloquence and rhetoric and the departure of speech from what it appears on the surface that characterize the Prophetic text. Therephore, we will deal whith the translation of the Prophet's Hadith as a subject of study, through analysis and comparison of two leading translations, the first is by Muhammed Mohsin khan as a translator of Sahih Al-Bukhari, and the second is by Abd Al-Hamid Siddiqui as a translator of Sahih Muslim. This is done by clarifying the translational techniques used by both, and then extracting the aspects of poximity and distance from the intended meaning.
