Des pluies irrégulières, le plus souvent à caractère orageux, combinées à une pression anthropozoogenes (déforestation, urbanisation, surpâturage) provoquent une érosion sévère. Selon l’Agence national des ressources hydriques, les apports solides (sédiments issus de l’érosion) sont estimés à 29 667 t/an, les sédiments contribuent à l’envasement du barrage d’Ouizert. Cette étude a été réalisée à l’aide d’un Système d’Information Géographique (SIG), a permis de hiérarchiser les différentes zones du sous bassin versant, en produisant une carte synthétique de répartition des degrés de sensibilité à l’érosion, et d’établir les facteurs décisifs qui contrôlent l’érosion hydrique qui sont, par ordre d’importance, la pente, l’érodibilité des sols et la couverture végétale Summary : Under catchment area of the wadi Saida is a part of the basin of Macta, is characterized by a semi-aride climate.
