Résumé: | Water pollution from industrial waste water is a serious problem in many countries. To reduce the harmful effects of these pollutants, several methods for wastewater treatment are implemented, in particular, the technique of adsorption. This study aims to use an adsorbent natural based on snail shell using the adsorption process for treating solutions of methyl violet 2B and green malachite which are the cationic dyes. The adsorbent was previously characterized. The adsorption tests were found that the adsorption capacity is influenced by various parameters related to the system adsorbate / adsorbent. The overall results showed that the adsorption kinetics of the dyes on the material is well described by the second order model. The adsorption isotherms of the adsorbent/adsorbate systems studied are described satisfactorily by the mathematical model of Langmuir and Freundlich. Furthermore, the thermodynamic study revealed that the adsorption is spontaneous and endothermic. |
